Tribe Impeach Senators 11-7

Bob Lemon completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Cleveland Indians outscored the Washington Senators 11 to 7. Lemon(9-5) pitched well enough to earn the win. Gordons PH Blast Beats Yankees 5-3

In a good matchup it was the Cleveland Indians 5, the New York Yankees 3 at Municipal Stadium. Bob Feller(9-4) had a solid outing for Cleveland. He allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Al Benton pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 2nd save. Joe Ostrowski(3-5) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Cleveland continued their winnings ways improving their record to 39-19. They are 9-1 in their last ten games. With the loss New York now has a record of 33-26.

Phillies Beat Braves 7-3

At Braves Field the Philadelphia Phillies tallied 4 runs in the 8th inning and easily handled the Boston Braves by the score of 7 to 3. Philadelphia took the lead for keeps in the top of the 4th inning scoring a single run. Philadelphia finished with 10 hits while Boston ended up with 7. The win went to Curt Simmons(6-3) who allowed no runs in 7 innings. Warren Spahn(10-6) was given the loss. He surrendered 7 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.
