Indians Beat Browns 3-2

3,724 fans watched an exciting game at Sportsman's Park. The Cleveland Indians topped the St. Louis Browns by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2. Cleveland came up with all the runs they needed in the 3rd inning when they scored 3 runs on 2 hits. That was all the runs Steve Gromek(3-2) needed. St. Louis threatened in the 9th but Cleveland was able to put down the rally. Jesse Flores recorded his 3rd save. Duane Pillette(1-1) was the losing pitcher. Lou Boudreau was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
