Tribe Mauls Yanks 13-0

Bob Lemon had an impressive outing and second baseman Joe Gordon hit a grand slam at Municipal Stadium as the mighty Cleveland Indians, running on all cylinders, ripped the New York Yankees by a large 13 to 0 margin. The Cleveland fans enjoyed the offense provided by Gordon. He electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run in the 4th inning and laced a base-hit scoring a run in the 4th inning. Cleveland had 8 hits for the afternoon. Lemon(13-11) was credited with the shutout. Tommy Byrne(11-8) was given the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
