The Philadelphia Phillies tallied 5 runs in the 1st inning and had an easy
time of it at Connie Mack Stadium defeating the Boston Braves by a score of
10 to 3.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Del Ennis. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 2nd of the
season) in the 1st inning and laced a base-hit bringing in two baserunners in
the 4th inning. Philadelphia had 13 hits overall, while Boston had 9.

Curt Simmons(2-0) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Johnny Sain(0-2)
suffered the loss. He gave up 5 hits and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.
