Ned Garver allowed Zach Taylor to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Dick Kokos hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the St. Louis Browns beat the
Cleveland Indians by a score of 9 to 1.
Kokos provided much of the offense. He lashed a single in the 3rd inning,
popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 1st of the season) in the 4th
inning and tripled scoring a run in the 6th inning. St. Louis had a total of
13 hits for the game.
Garver(1-1), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Sam
Zoldak(0-1) absorbed the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 3 and
2/3 innings of work.
