Phillies Drop Second Straight to Brooklyn

Bud Podbielan was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 3 to 2. The Phils are off to an 0-2 start.

complete game as the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a
score of 3 to 2.
 
Brooklyn took the lead for good in the 3rd inning plating an isolated run.
Philadelphia had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
 
Podbielan(1-0), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss
was charged to Russ Meyer(0-1).  'This was a tough loss,' said Eddie Sawyer,
'the kind that sticks with you for awhile.'
