Bob Feller allowed Lou Boudreau to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the St. Louis Browns were badly beaten by the Cleveland Indians, 12 to
2.
Cleveland promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they scored 3
runs on 4 hits. That early run support was enough for Feller(1-0) and
Cleveland. Cleveland rapped out 19 hits for the afternoon.
Stubby Overmire(0-1) ended up with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 14 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
