Indians Whip Senators 7-1

Jim Hegan went yard and had 2 RBI and Early Wynn completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Cleveland Indians topped the Washington Senators by a score of 7 to 1 at Griffith Stadium. Cleveland came up with 6 runs in the top of the 5th inning when they had 7 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Dale Mitchell who quieted the home crowd when he lined a base-hit which was good for two runs. Cleveland managed 14 hits in their victory. Wynn(15-2) allowed 1 run on the game. Sid Hudson(8-8) absorbed the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
