The Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 9 to 4 victory over the New York Giants
at Connie Mack Stadium.
 
Willie Jones enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He belted a three-run homer (his
2nd of the season) in the 1st inning and tripled plating two runs in the 8th
inning.  Philadelphia out-hit New York for the game, 11 hits to 5.  
 
The victory went to Curt Simmons(3-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Simmons got help from Jim Konstanty who earned his 4th save.  Dave Koslo(2-1)
was hit with the loss.  He struggled with his control issuing 5 walks in 2
and 2/3 innings.
