Luke Easter had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Bob Feller pitched a complete game as the
Cleveland Indians man-handled the Philadelphia Athletics - the final score
was 22 to 3.
It was a good day for Cleveland thanks to Easter. He lined a single which
scored a run in the 1st inning, ripped a base-knock which plated a run in the
2nd inning, hit a one-base hit in the 4th inning and lofted a three-run bomb
(his 5th of the season) in the 6th inning. Cleveland lit up the scoreboard
in the 2nd inning with 7 runs on 5 hits and the 4th inning when they had 7
runs on 5 hits. Cleveland rapped out 21 hits for the night.
The victory went to Feller(3-3) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Dick
Fowler(0-2) suffered the loss. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits
and 4 walks.
